Alternative Models of Service

Alternative models of service such as Point of Care Testing (POCT) and mobile diagnostic imaging units can make service delivery more convenient for patients, as well as more timely.

POCT supports emergency services and regional health programs such as dialysis. The i-Stat is one such POCT device that has been successfully implemented in DSM’s northern facilities of Gillam and Lynn Lake.

Mobile Ultrasound (US) services have been introduced in the Interlake region, effectively reducing wait times for US services within the region.
