Patient Safety
Patient Safety is a top priority for DSM. In addition to the many ongoing quality initiatives that DSM has implemented to ensure patient safety, DSM is a member organization of the Manitoba Institute for Patient Safety (MIPS).
For Best Results, Show Your ID
For your safety, when providing a sample as an out-patient at any DSM facility, you are required to show appropriate identification before your sample will be taken. Learn more about the types of acceptable identification.
Safety. Certainty. Responsibility.
Patients' Role in Ensuring Their Own Safety
DSM has implemented a very important safety driven policy to ensure that the required information is included in a patient's sample requisition and sample label. Did you know that as a patient, you can also help to ensure the accuracy of your lab results?
When you have your blood drawn, or have a sample collected, there are two simple things you can do to help ensure your safety:
- Ensure that your sample is labeled in front of you
- Ask to review your requisition to ensure that your personal information is accurate
Together we can work to ensure the most accurate results for your lab tests.
