Dr. David Parry – Determining the relative change value of plasma 1,5-anhydroglucitol (1,5-AG) for monitoring short term glycemic control in pregnant women with diabetes

Dr. Parry’s research focused on improving management of maternal diabetes by measuring changes in the analog of glucose 1,5-AG in the blood of pregnant women in order to use this as a marker of glycemic control. It is anticipated that the research findings will lead to a recommendation to adopt 1,5-AG measurements as a vital tool in monitoring hyperglycemia in pregnant women with diabetes with the potential for broader applications.
